Nelson Higgins certificates
William Henry Hooper letter
Handwritten letter addressed to the "Hon. E. Smith, Probate Judge for Great Salt Lake Co." Hooper states that he is submitting an inventory of the estate of the late Almon Whiting Babbitt. The estate items were to be set apart for the use of the deceased's widow and family.
Edward Hunter letter
Handwritten letter and typescript. The letter is dated November 27, 1882 and is addressed to Nancy Kennedy. Hunter expresses concern over the disenfranchising of members of the Mormon Church by the United States government.
Hans Peter Larsen autobiography
Typewritten copy of an autobiography. Larsen was converted to the Mormon Church in Denmark, migrated to Utah in 1855, served in the Utah Militia during the Utah Expedition of 1857-1858, helped build the fort at Wellsville, Utah, and settled in Mendon, Utah.
William Maughn pardon
Photocopy of a handwritten presidential pardon signed by Benjamin Harrison. William Maughn, a Mormon polygamist, had been convicted of adultery and sentenced to two and a half years in prison. His case was reviewed, and the conviction was changed to unlawful cohabitation which carried a prison term of six months. Since Maughn had already served that amount of time, Harrison ordered him released.
W. Medieo letters
Handwritten copybook letters apparently signed by W. Medieo and addressed to Brigham Young and William H. Hooper. The letter addressed to Brigham Young informs him that his account has been adjusted for the fiscal year 1856-57 with the Treasury. The item addressed to Hooper relates to his application to be the acting "Secretary Pro tem" of Utah.

It specifically deals with his life in terms of his business, church, and personal relations. The collection dates 1894-1970.
Elisha Whitteny letter and enclosure
Handwritten copybook of a letter and an enclosure apparently signed by Elisha Whitteny and addressed to Governor Brigham Young. Both the letter and the enclosure deal with a money discrepancy which the U.S. Treasury awarded to Utah.
