Isaura Bentley Abegg diaries
Photocopies of handwritten diaries for the years 1952, 1964, and 1966 through 1971. Abegg was a student at Brigham Young University in 1952 and was closely associated with the university in later years. She talks of her daily activities, association with Brigham Young University, and Church responsibilities.
Olive Smoot Bean autobiography
Photocopy of a typewritten autobiography (pages 163 to 197). Bean writes about her childhood in Salt Lake City and Provo, Utah, her marriage, and her children.
Biography of Mary Elizabeth Coursey Hoover : pioneer, came to Utah in 1849
Typewritten biography. The item was originally presented to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers meeting in 1925. Mary's father joined the Mormon Church and moved his family to Nauvoo, Illinois and later to Utah. Mary married John Witmer Hoover in 1855, had twelve children, and spent most of her adult life in Provo, Utah.
Brigham Young University 2nd Ward scrapbook
Bound scrapbook (42 pages) with newsletters, poems, newspaper clippings, programs, brochures, and miscellaneous items relating to the BYU 2nd Ward Relief Society. Materials document the activities of the ward's women between 1956 and 1962.
Flora Robertson Brimhall autobiography
Typewritten autobiography. Brimhall writes about her family background, her youth in Spanish Fork, Utah, her marriage to George H. Brimhall, and gives her reflections on polygamy. As an adult, she lived in Provo, Utah.
Mary E. Woolley Chamberlain : handmaiden of the Lord
Bound typewritten autobiography of Mary Woolley Chamberlain. Mary lived in St. George, Kanab, Provo, and Salt Lake City, Utah. She gives detailed accounts of family life, Mormon Church activities, and events in these towns and in Utah in general from her birth to 1936 when she wrote her history. This record was compiled, typed, and put with genealogy work-sheets and photographs probably in 1981. Also included are tributes to Mary by family members.
Virginia Chipman notes
Handwritten notes in a notebook. The notes are apparently associated with classes taken at the university. Also included are notes relating to the meetings of the "Young Ladies of the Second Year" at the university.
Biography of Mary Ann Brown Clark
Typewritten biography of Mary Ann Brown Clark (1859-1962). Mrs. Dixon writes about Mary Clark, who died at the age of 103 and was thought to have been the oldest woman in Utah at that time. Mrs. Dixon relates the experiences of Mary Clark while she was living in Pleasant Grove, Panguitch, St. George, and Provo, Utah.
