George Washington Bean diaries
Biography of John and Louise Smith Park
Typewritten copy of Mary's biography of her parents, but the bulk of the account is autobiographical. Mary tells of coming to Utah in 1847 including incidents en route. She tells of the early settlement of Salt Lake City and Provo, Utah including problems with Indians, crickets and grass hoppers, and the difficult living conditions.
Daughters of Utah Pioneers records
Newspaper clipping of pioneer monuments, scrapbooks, biographies, histories of various industries, lists of officers and members, and meeting programs. The materials relate to the operation of the organization primarily in Provo, Utah.
Duke family biographies
Typewritten biographical sketch of Jonathan O. Duke, prepared by Ruby Duke Stringham, which tells (mainly through excerpts from his journal) of the Mormon expulsion from Nauvoo, Illinois; residence in Iowa; immigration to Utah; life in Provo, Utah; and participation in the Echo Canyon War. Also includes two unsigned handwritten sketches: One of Jonathan Duke and one of his son, Robert S. Duke.
Jonathan Oldham Duke autobiography and diaries
Collection includes a handwritten autobiography and three volumes of diaries kept by Jonathan Oldham Duke from 1850 to 1857. Also includes a transcription of volume 1 and volume 2.
Charles D. Fletcher papers
Diaries. Also with the collection are letters received by Fletcher from various residents of Provo, Utah, including Samuel S. Jones, mayor of the town. Also included is business account books of Charles D. Miller, materials related to the Perpetual Emigration Fund of the Mormon Church, and some Mormon patriarchal blessings.
Biography : Henry Goddard
Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typewritten biography. Goddard was born in 1821 in England, joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1850, and migrated to Utah in 1855. He lived in Provo, Utah, and died in 1901.
History of Albert Merrill
Photocopy of a handwritten biography of Albert Merrill. Merrill was born on Long Island, New York; joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1841; moved to Nauvoo, Illinois, in 1843; migrated to Utah in 1852; and settled in Provo, Utah. He served on a mission for the Church to the Eastern States from 1869 to 1870 and was made a patriarch of the Church in 1873.
Joyce Kling Harmon pioneer biographies
Typewritten biographies, newspaper clippings, correspondence, and photographs. The collection consists largely of biographies written by members of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers dealing with their ancestors.
