Handwritten and signed financial note dated June 6, 1860. Green promises to pay George Q. Cannon $76.80 for "4 hand cart shares" and $58.41 for provisions after he arrives in Salt Lake City.

Andrew Jenson papers

Correspondence; autobiography of Jenson's life from the time he lived in Denmark to his residence in Utah; drafts of writings for the newspaper column, "Jenson Travels," appearing in the Deseret News newspaper; travel notes; photographs; and memorabilia. Jenson's writings largely pertain to Mormon and Utah history. Dated 1850 to 1935.

Collection includes a folder called "Storm Clouds" that contains information surrounding the Parrish-Potter murder mystery in Springville in the 1850s. Lois W. McIntyre travel journal

Scope and Contents

Contains Lois W. McIntyre's travel journal and hotel stationary notes documenting her vacation to Honolulu, Hawaii; Wake Island; Manila; Singapore; Bangkok; Hong Kong; and Tokyo. In her journal, she summarizes daily travel itineraries and comments more particularly on flora, dress, and cuisine of each destination she visits. McIntyre makes reference to the construction of the "Mormon University" in Hawaii. Dated 1958 July-August.

Rasmus Olsen diary and notes

Scope and Contents

Handwritten diary and notes mostly in Danish. These entries were written in four almanacs, on an envelope, and on one loose sheet of paper. The diary was written for the year 1872. The notes largely record historical events from ancient to modern times.

Two balloon fragments, one containing the following typed information: "Portion of gas balloon 'Explorer' used in stratosphere flight. Started - 5:40 A.M. July 28, 1934 from five miles SW of Rapid City, So. Dakota. Ascended to 60613 feet approx. when bag developed rip which forced flyers to descend by parachutes. Landed July 28 at 3:40 P.M. near Holdrege, Neb. where the gondola was wrecked." Fragment signed by W. E. Kepner, Albert W. Stevens, and Orvil A. Anderson.

George Q. Cannon promissory note

Handwritten note promising to pay on demand $103.66 to George P. Cannon for "hand cart shares" and provisions. The item was signed by William Horn. The note was written in Florence, Nebraska on July 6, 1860. Apparently, the note was written by Cannon, including his own name, and endorsed by Horn.

Rector family financial papers

Handwritten financial papers of William and Elias Rector. Two documents, signed by Elias Rector, concern land transactions. A third itemizes the accounts of his estate. Two notes, signed by William Rector, authorize payment of U.S. funds to surveyors. The remaining three documents are letters from persons for whom William Rector acted as agent and describe land transaction activities.
