Echoes of the sage and cedars : a centennial history of Oak City, Utah, 1868-1969
The materials are a near final draft of a municipally published town history produced between 1969 and 1970. The typescript includes numerous additons, corrections, and notes in the margins. Also included with this typescript are select gally proofs. This history centers around the Mormon congregation known as the Oak Creek Branch (1874-1877), Oak Creek Ward (1877-1922), and the Oak City Ward (1922- ). The book also includes numerous biographies of past residents.
Silas Leavitt Fish papers

Preliminary draft of the Sept. 24, 1845 broadside on the Mormons leaving Nauvoo
Photocopy of a handwritten manuscript addressed to a Qunicy citizens' committee and written by a council of the Mormon Church at the home of John Taylor. The writers asked that there be a cessation of hostile acts against the Mormons, including the burning of their homes, and expressed the intent of the majority of them to leave the area in the spring of 1846.

Typed manuscript of an essay entitled "Christmas in Germany." The item describes the peculiar customs and celebrations at Christmastime in Germany including its Protestant aspects, Catholic aspects, and pre-Christian traditions.

William E. Timmins papers
Correspondence, articles, drafts, newspaper clippings, and notes. The materials relate to two articles by Timmins on Mormon cults and reincarnation and Utah state prison education. Some of the items deal with the issues of Sunday closing laws and the liquor by the drink issue in 1968.
