Biography : Joseph and Elizabeth Hobson Robinson
Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typewritten biography. Joseph Robinson was born in 1827 in England and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1840. Joseph migrated to the United States and married Elizabeth Hobson in 1850 in St. Louis, Missouri. Elizabeth was born in 1830 in England. They came to Utah and lived for a time in Tooele, but they settled in American Fork. Elizabeth died in 1908 and Joseph died in 1917.
James Stephens Brown papers
Certificates, poems, deeds, biographies, and letters received. The items relate to Brown and his descendants most of whom lived in Tooele, Utah. The letters are from family members and the certificates relate to Brown's Church activities. Brown was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
History of Hans Christian Hansen
Photocopy of a typewritten biography. Hans Christian Hansen was born in Denmark in 1848. He later joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and migrated to Utah. He settled in the Pine Canyon farming area near Tooele, Utah, and died in 1924.
Robert Orr papers
Handwritten poems, minutes of a meeting of the Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a biography of Zina D. H. Young, a wife of the second president of the Church, Brigham Young. The poems were written at the death of Brigham Young in 1877. The Relief Society minutes relate to a meeting held in the 64th District school house on 7 Nov. 1893 in an unknown location.
Robert H. Skelton collection
Collection of papers by or about Robert Hodgson Skelton. Included in the collection is Skelton's journal from his mission to India, plus a photocopy and transcription of the same. Also includes a petition for assistance to the people of Santa Cruz, California, by Skelton and other Mormon missionaries traveling to their missions without purse or scrip.
John Tate : early Utah pioneer
Photocopies of a typewritten history with handwritten corrections. The item is a history of John Tate who converted to the Mormon Church in England and migrated to Utah. Tate lived in Salt Lake City, Utah as a famer until 1861 when he move to Tooele, Utah. This biography was written as a student paper for a history class at Brigham Young University.
John W. Tate papers
Typescript of a diary, photocopies and typescripts of letters received, and biographical information. The diary relates to Tate's work in colonizing Arizona from 1880 to 1881. The letters were received by Tate from 1887 to 1888 while serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern States. The biographical data lists the church, city, and county positions held by Tate from 1871 to 1914.
