Biography : Emeretta Phillips Thornton

Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typewritten biography. Emeretta Phillips was born in 1854 in New England. She was a member of the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints and migrated to Utah in 1861. She settled in American Fork. She married Oliver E. Thornton in 1873 and died 1934. Much of the account is in the words of Emeretta.

Eva Charlotta Anderson Bjork diary

Scope and Contents

Photocopy of a handwritten diary in six pages. Eva Bjork writes about migrating from Sweden to Utah in 1884. Also included is a biography of Eva's husband, William Bjork. William migrated from Sweden to Utah in 1868. He worked for the railroad and lived in several places in Utah. He finally settled in Provo, Utah. The author of the item is unknown and the date of its composition is uncertain.

Charles Alfred Harper diary and biography

Photocopy of a handwritten diary and a biography of Harper. The diary covers the dates from April 7 to August 8, 1847 when Harper came to Utah with one of the earliest Mormon pioneer companies. He worked as a wheelwright. Also included are notes of financial transactions in Holladay, Utah, in 1895.

Ann Prior Jarvis autobiographies and a biography

Scope and Contents Two handwritten autobiographies, a biography of George Jarvis (1823-1913), miscellaneous materials, and photocopies of these items. Ann was born in England and married George Jarvis at age sixteen. She and George were converted to the Mormon Church in 1848. George worked as a sailor to earn money for the journey to Utah.
