Contains a thumbdrive with a transcribed copy of journals written by Louis Orson Brandley between 1950 and 1983. Materials record daily life in Utah and Alberta, Canada, and focus particularly on family, including Louis's wife, children, and grandchildren. Typed transcripts of "patriarchal blessing(s)" given to Nelson Heresford Kathan and Sarah Jane King Kathan by John A. West, a Mormon patriarch. Also included are two certificates recording the ordination of Nelson H. Kathan to offices in the Mormon priesthood and two short, handwritten histories of Nathan and Sarah Kathan.

E. Dale LeBaron oral history project on Africa

Scope and Contents

Collection contains recordings and transcriptions of oral history interviews conducted by E. Dale LeBaron while he was visiting Africa. These interviews are with converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from various countries of Africa. The items were transcribed by the College of Religious Instruction at Brigham Young University. Back-up copies of the transcriptions are included on floppy disks. The collection dates from 1979 to 2000.

Oral history interview with Irving W. Poulsen

Scope and Contents

Contains the thirty-six page transcript of the interview conducted by Zane C. Calderwood with Poulsen. Irving W. Poulsen describes his family, early home life, relations with the Indians, his exeprience in World War I all in relation to being a Mormon. The oral history is thirty-six pages long. Zane M. Calderwood's purpose of interviewing is to pass on Irving Poulsen's personal views on the religous philosiphies that brought his ancestors to America and to the west.
