Handwritten diaries in four volumes. Also included are photocopies of the materials. Adams mentions his youth and starts his diaries in 1830. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1836 and subsequently lived in Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa, and came to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1849.

Handwritten autobiography, photocopy of the manuscript, and a typescript of the item. McArthur was born in New York State; joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint in 1832; lived in Kirtland, Ohio, in Missouri, and in Nauvoo, Illinois. McArthur stayed at Winter Quarters, Nebraska, migrated to Utah in 1848, experienced troubles with Ute Indians, and served on a mission to England for the LDS Church from 1852 to 1856.
