James I. Steel autobiography and family records
Photocopy of a handwritten autobiography with family records apparently also copied by Steel. James Steel converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England and migrated to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1854. He later settled in Tooele County, Utah. Steel entered into polygamy in 1874. Also included are ordinations and patriarchal blessings of family members. Steel also writes about his visions and dreams.
Margaret McNeil Ballard autobiography
Typewritten copy of an autobiography. Ballard writes about her early life in Scotland as a Mormon, her migration to the United States in 1856 and her subsequent migration to Utah in 1859, and her life as a polygamous wife in Logan, Utah. Ballard also tells about encounters with Indians while coming to Utah, and when she was living in Logan.

Photocopies of a typewritten autobiography. Cazier was born in Ordham County, Kentucky. His family moved to Illinois in 1841 where he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1845. He later moved to Nauvoo, Illinois, to Council Bluffs, Iowa, and to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1850. He settled at Nephi, Utah, in 1851 and later married polygamously. Cazier also writes about his family life.
Ebenezer Crouch autobiography
Typescript of an autobiography. Crouch was born in Tumbridge Wells, Kent, England; migrated to America in 1856; and came to Utah in 1859. Crouch tells about encounters with Ute Indians, describes Orrin Porter Rockwell, and writes about being married polygamously. He lived in numerous places in Utah and had several occupations.

Clarance Merrill autobiography
Handwritten autobiography. Merrill lived in Nauvoo, Illinois, as a young boy. He migrated to Utah in 1852 and lived in Provo, Salt Lake City, Bear Lake Valley, Cove Creek, and Fillmore, Utah. He also participated in the "Utah War" of 1857 to 1858.
John Murdock autobiography and diary
Typescripts of a diary and an abridgement of diaries for the years from 1830 to 1859 and 1832. Murdock joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1830 and lived in Kirtland, Ohio; Missouri; Nauvoo, Illinois; and Salt Lake City, Utah. He had numerous assignments for the Church and migrated to Utah in 1847. He participated in Zion's Camp in 1834 and went on a mission to Australia from 1852 to 1853.
Joseph Lee Robinson autobiography and diary
Typewritten condensation of an autobiography and a diary. The item was shortened by Robinson's granddaughter, Rena Robinson Cutler. Joseph Robinson writes about his conversion to the Mormon Church in 1836, his migration to Utah in 1848, his opinions of the Mormon doctrine of polygamy, and his settling in Weber County, Utah.
