William Forman diary and biographies

Scope and Contents

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typescript. Forman writes about his youth. He was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1851 and migrated to Utah in 1854. He lived in Salt Lake City, Utah Valley, and Heber City, Utah. He was fined for polygamy in 1891. Also included are three biographies of family members written by John Forman in 1932.

Scope and Contents Materials include photocopies of the typewritten manuscript of Mary Lois Walker Morris's autobiography. The autobiography details events in Mary's life and the life of her family. It provides insight into religion and family life. It also gives information about Quakers in England, conversion to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, emmigration, and polygamy in Utah. John Murdock autobiography and diary

Scope and Contents

Typescripts of a diary and an abridgement of diaries for the years from 1830 to 1859 and 1832. Murdock joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1830 and lived in Kirtland, Ohio; Missouri; Nauvoo, Illinois; and Salt Lake City, Utah. He had numerous assignments for the Church and migrated to Utah in 1847. He participated in Zion's Camp in 1834 and went on a mission to Australia from 1852 to 1853.

Levi Savage diaries

Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries. The original items are housed in two boxes while the photocopies of these materials are housed in three. There are many gaps in the entries including a sixteen-year gap from 1861 to 1877. Savage writes about his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to "Siam" (Thailand) from 1852 to 1856. Margaret Pierce Whitesides Young autobiography

Scope and Contents

Photocopy of a typescript. Originally written to be read at a 1903 meeting of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Mrs. Young describes her life in Nauvoo and her early years in Salt Lake City, Utah. She also comments on life as a polygamous wife of Brigham Young.
