James G. Duffin diaries

William Farrer diaries and letters

Scope and Contents

Contains seven handwritten volumes, plus typescripts which focus on Farrer's Hawaiian Mission, 1850-1854. Volume one contains accounts of his work in the California gold fields prior to his mission call. Volume seven is entirely in the Hawaiian language. Also included are photocopies of typescripts of 71 letters written to and by Farrer when he served in the Hawaiian Islands.

John Claiborne Harper papers

Scope and Contents Handwritten diary, letters, certificates, paroles, and Mormon Church blessings. The diary was kept while Harper served on a mission to the Southern States for the Mormon Church from 1887 to 1888. Also included is an autograph book signed by Mormons in the Utah State prison for polygamy in 1889. John Peter Johnson papers

Scope and Contents

Handwritten correspondence, diaries, notebooks, patriarchal blessings, certificates, an autobiography, and genealogical materials. The correspondence are between Johnson and his wife, Hana, and were written while Johnson was on a mission for the Mormon Church in Sweden. The diaries were kept while Johnson was on his mission and after his return to Ogden, Utah. The certificates deal with Johnson's numerous callings in the Mormon Church.

Sidney J. Ottley papers

Scope and Contents

Correspondence, diaries, financial ledgers, newsletters, an autobiography, greeting cards, and a scrapbook. The diaries relate to Ottley's missions for the Church in New Zealand and Great Britain and to his service as mission president also in New Zealand starting in 1951. The correspondence is between family members. The photographs in the scrapbook were taken during his mission presidency in the 1950s.

Earl Stanley Paul diaries

Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries kept in 10 volumes from 1912 to 1979. There are many gaps. Paul writes about his mission to Samoa from 1912 to 1916, his service in the United States Army from 1918 to 1919 in France, his marriage, Mormon church activities, and his second mission to Samoa. He also includes autobiographical materials with the diary entries.
