Typewritten excerpts of an autobiography. Johnson was born while his parents were migrating to Utah. He lived in numerous places including Fountain Green and Huntington, Utah. He states that he knew Black Hawk, recounts incidents with Ute Indians during the Black Hawk War, served as postmaster in Huntington, and was elected to the Utah state senate. The item was edited by family members who removed some material.

Typescripts of autobiographical materials. Day writes about her early life in Mt. Pleasant, about the defenses in the town during the Black Hawk War, and about her family. Also included is a biography by Day of her mother, Eliza Cusworth Burton Staker, who was a pioneer and an early settler in Mt. Pleasant.

Handwritten diaries, financial records, and records of temple work performed for the Mormon Church. The items include an autobiography written by Coombs which covers his early years until 1884 when he started keeping a diary. He kept his journal from 1884 to 1928 with a gap from 1897 through 1899. Coombs relates his expriences while living in various communities in Sanpete and Cache Counties, Utah. Also included are patriarchal blessings of family members.

Typewritten biography of Justus Wellington Seeley. Seeley was born in Salt Lake City, Utah; moved to San Bernardino, California; saw human bones at the site of the Mountain Meadows Massacre on the way back to Utah; lived several places in Utah; stood guard during the Black Hawk War against the Ute Indians; and eventually settled in Castle Dale, Utah.

Typewritten manuscript of a history of Manti, Utah. The item covers the years from 1849 to 1897. It includes contributions from a number of authors who describe their experiences. A number of accounts of Indian troubles are presented as well as descriptions of how the town and its fort were constructed. The manuscript was apparently never published.

Typewritten transcripts with handwritten corrections of the included cassette sound tapes. Palmer gave weekly addresses at KSUB in Cedar City, Utah. Topics include the history of Iron County, Utah, early Mormons in the area, Indians of the area, and the early history of Utah.

Photocopy of a typewritten autobiography of Orange Seely, which describes the settlement of San Bernardino, California, trouble with Indians in Utah, help given to Mormon immigrants, and his political career.

Correspondence, diaries, notes, and miscellaneous items relating to Edwin Dilworth Woolley, Erastus Snow, and their families which were related through marriage. The materials deal with family associations with various Mormon Church leaders, the Grand Canyon, and a wide wage of Mormon and Utah history topics.
