Lilburn W. Boggs papers
Two signed items, one a promissory note made out to William Smith, agent for the Steam Mill Company, dated August 20, 1817. The other a transfer of title dated June 18, 1820, turning over ownership of two lots in Independence, Missouri, to Joseph Philipson.
British land records
Contains five records for land ownership in Britain, dated 1753 and 1898-1900. The records lay out a lease agreement which states where the land is that is being leased, when payments are due, and how much the payments will be, as well as the laws regarding leasing. The records are for various locations, including West Wickham, Gloucester, Southhampton, and Surrey.
Russell K. Homer certificates
Printed forms with handwritten notations dated 10 Sept. 1852 and 15 June 1855. Homer purchases land in Conneaut, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, in 1852. Homer also purchases land in Pottawattamie County, Iowa, in 1855. This item is signed by Franklin Pierce, president of the United States.
Collection of land indentures
Oliver Granger deed
Handwritten deed verifying that Granger will purchase a lot in Nauvoo, Illinois. Joseph Smith, first president of the Mormon Church, signed as "accredited agent of Oliver Granger."
Ulysses S. Grant deed for Andrew J. Moffitt
Printed form with handwritten notations dated 1 July 1873. The item states that Andrew J. Moffitt has purchased land in Sanpete County, Utah. The manuscript was signed by Ulysses S. Grant, president of the United States.
Theodore Hunt deed
Handwritten and signed deed, dated 12 Aug. 1816, registered in St. Louis, Missouri, and stating that land in New Marid County, Missouri, belongs to Taylor Berry.
Land indenture
Handwritten and signed land indenture agreemement, 4 June 1776. The item specifies that land owned by William Pool and William Bull would be leased by Thomas Hawkes and Joseph Pardoe. Seals are affixed to the manuscript.
James Monroe land title
Handwritten and printed land titled, dated 15 July 1802, and signed by Monroe. The item grants 133 acres of land in Wood County, Virginia.
Benjamin Harrison land title
Printed and handwritten land deed, dated 1 Dec. 1782, and signed by Harrison. Rowland Madison is granted 150 acres of land.
