Thomas Adams papers

Contains a journal of Adams' mission to Great Britain, 1895-1897, including newspaper clippings about Mormonism in Ireland, and records of his correspondence and missionary work. Also included are a letter changing his mission call to Great Britain, 1895, genealogical data, and family histories of his father's family, William Adams.

William John Benbow Carter missionary journals

Scope and Contents

Materials include missionary journals for Carter's service in the area of Nottingham, England. Includes descriptions of Carter's attempts to find his ancestors and relatives throughout England. The fifth journal includes a description of his return to Utah via Sydney, Australia, and his report to President John Taylor upon his return. The sixth journal includes notes Carter took on his genealogy during his missionary service. Dated 1877-1879.

George Halliday papers

The diary also includes a brief autobiographical sketch on Halliday from his birth up to 1845. Collection includes handwritten and typewritten research notes, articles, genealogies, diaries, and biographies. Also included is Homer family correspondence. The family members lived in Utah, Wyoming, and Montana. The notes relate to Homer's research on Martin Harris (1783-1875). Also included is a diary Homer's father, William Harrison Homer, Sr., kept while he was on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England from 1867 to 1868.

Silas LeRoy Richards diary and family histories

Scope and Contents

Handwritten autobiography and diary, family histories, genealogies, patriarchal blessings, and mementos. Much of the material relates to the history and genealogies of the Richards, Rhead (Reed), Stanley, and Huffman (Hoffman) families. Silas was born in Union and later moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. He held several jobs and served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern States Mission from 1902 to 1905.
