One notebook with handwritten items in it. It includes poems by Pratt and his wife Belinda Marden Pratt. One poem deals with the martyrdom of the Mormon Prophet, Joseph Smith (1805-1844). Also included are financial records. Likely produced in Utah, although no locations are identified. Dated 1847.

Biographical history
Belinda Marden Pratt (1820-1894) was a wife of Parley P. Pratt and an active member of the early LDS church.
Belinda Pratt was born Melinda Marden on December 24, 1820 in Chichester, New Hampshire to John Marden and Rachel Shaw. She was converted to the LDS Church in 1843. She was sealed to Parley P. Pratt November 20, 1844 in Nauvoo, Illinois. She moved to Utah and was an active member of the Church there, serving as Relief Society president of her ward and later her stake. Belinda Marden Pratt passed away February 19, 1894 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Parley P. Pratt (1807-1857) was an American religious leader and missionary.
Parley P. Pratt was born April 12, 1807 in Burlington, New York, to Jared Pratt and Charity Dickinson Pratt. He served as an apostle in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1835 to his death in 1857. Parley P. Pratt was assassinated May 13, 1857 in Alma, Arkansas.

Item was placed at BYU on permanent loan by Kristen McKendry in 1988. The item has been handed down to women in the family, beginning with Belinda Pratt. Ownership was transferred to her niece, Sarah Nielsen Barrows, in 2018.
