Handwritten and signed letter, written in Liberty, Missouri, addressed to John Chauncey, and dated June 11, 1836. Biographical History
Alexander William Doniphan was an American lawyer, soldier, and politician. As a brigadier general of Missouri militia, he was active in the "Mormon War" in Missouri in 1838.
