William B. Efner histories
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of typewritten articles and histories written and compiled by Efner. They describe life in the early Dutch settlement of Schnectady, indian skirmishes, and Revolutionary warfare in the Mohawk Valley in the 1780's. Stories concerning prominent citizens, buildings, and landmarks are colorfully written. Schenectady is noted for its cloth industry which attracted many immigrants.

Biographical Note
Efner was the founder of the Schenectady, N.Y., Historical Society and served as the official historian of that city during the 1930's and 1940's.
