Ella Wheeler Wilcox letters to Ethelyn Bryant Chapman
Scope and Contents
American poet, novelist, journalist and spiritualist. Written to her friend, "Hattie" Chapman, also a writer, the letters contain a vivid and frank discussion of the friends and events that surround the life of Ella Wilcox, including her courtship and marriage, the birth and death of her child, her relationship with her husband, and her spiritual beliefs and experiences. Mrs. Wilcox frequently mentions progress on several of her literary works, and the reception by the public and critics of these books.
