A 35-page typescript biographical sketch titled "The Life of Henry Charitan Jacobs 1846-1915," about the life of Henry Charitan Jacobs written by J. (Joseph) Smith Jacobs on July 19, 1960. Joseph is the son of Henry. Also includes two appendixes, "The Funeral Services of Henry C. Jacobs" and "Smith's Recollections of Father."

Biographical / Historical
J. Smith Jacobs was born February 25, 1909, in Ogden, Utah, to Henry Chariton Jacobs and Emma Rigby. Smith grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1930. He married Leone Perry on June 6, 1939, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Smith worked in the elementary and secondary school systems as a teacher, principal, and then superintendent. In 1950, he received a PhD from the University of Utah, and moved to California where he worked in school leadership positions until he retired in 1974. He returned to Utah in 1988. J. Smith Jacobs died March 20, 2007, in Orem, Utah.
