Scope and Contents
Two photocopies of typewritten manuscript. Describes the lives of Niels Petersen and his wife, Mary Mortensen Petersen, from their birth in Denmark, their conversion to the Mormon Church, their journey to the United States to settle in Utah, and their assignment to assist in establishing Mormon colonies along the Little Colorado River in northern Arizona. Author concentrates on the family's experiences in Arizona, noting in detail relations with the Indians, problems with outlaws and thieves, and family life.
