Scope and Contents

Typed transcripts of a taped interview by Anthony Sippert conducted on 26 March 1985 for Ray C. Hillam's War Project. Kallunki was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Kallunki was drafted into the United States Army in 1961, he was trained at Fort Ord, California, and was trained as an officer in 1963. He went to Vietnam on his first tour of duty with the Fifth Special Forces Group. After his return to the United States, he was a training commander. He also served as an instructor of ROTC and as a professor of military science at Brigham Young University. He discusses the impact his war experiences had on him.
