Henry William Bigler diary
Scope and Contents
Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typescript. The item is "extracts from missionary experiences. Copied from original diary owned by Delbert Bigler, Provo, Utah." The extracts start in 1853 when Bigler was on a mission for the Mormon Church in Hawaii. He writes about a smallpox epidemic and missionary experiences. He returned to Utah in 1855. He married Cynthia Jane Whipple in November of 1855. He went on another mission to Hawaii in 1857 and returned in 1858. He talks about his activities in the Mormon Church and about family matters. The diary ends in 1899, and it has many large gaps.
