Letter on vellum in French. The item was written in a secretary's hand and was signed with the words "Henry de Lorraine." It is one page of 9 lines in length with a paper seal affixed. The letter is addressed to the treasurer, Mollay, and deals with a financial transaction. Also included are two portrait etchings of Guise.

Biographical History
Leader of the Catholic party in France. He intrigued against Henry III, was responsible for the St. Batholomew's Day Massacre, and aspired openly to the throne of France.
