J. Mayhew letter
Scope and Contents
Handwritten letter dated 25 April 1827. The item is addressed to "Sir." Mayhew responds to a letter, describes the nature or his work, and tells how much various items cost. The item was written from the town and in the year in which the Mormon Prophet, Joseph Smith, reported acquiring the "Golden Plates" from which he translated the Book of Mormon.
