Contains a typewritten letter and two typewritten poems. The poems were written by Marjorie Price Allen and Graham W. Doxey. The items commemorate nine women of Tarboro, North Carolina who raised funds for the construction of a Mormon chapel.

James R. Price (1885-1964) was a Mormon mission and temple president from Arizona. He served as president of the Central Atlantic States Mission.

Marjorie Price Allen (1920-2018) was a Mormon missionary and temple matron from Arizona.

Marjorie Allen Price was born February 10, 1920 in Phoenix, Arizona to parents James Robert Price and Mabel Alexander. She was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 3, 1928. She went on to marry Nephi Simeon Hardy Allen on April 30, 1944 in Maricopa, Arizona, with whom she had five children. Price served in various positions within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including missionary service in New Zealand and Australia, and as a matron of the Mesa Arizona Temple. She passed away on January 19, 2018 in Phoenix, Arizona.
