Typed and signed letters (1896-1901) addressed to Nellie D. Gleason and her handwritten replies (1896-1901). Davis expresses appreciation for Nellie's aid in research on Southern California for his book about the history and life of Californians before and after the annexation to the United States. Gleason's letters inform Davis of more research materials she sent.
