Scope and Contents
Photocopies of newspaper clippings and miscellaneous documents relating to the lives of Charles W. Wilcken and his son David. The clippings largely tell of the life of Charles while many of the miscellaneous items relate to the marriage, Church activities, and employment of David.

Biographical Sketch
Soldier, pioneer, and convert to the Mormon Church from Germany. He served in the Prussian army and later came to Utah with "Johnston's Army" and remained there. David Wilken was the son of Charles. David served as a missionary for the Mormon Church in Switzerland and worked as a guard at the Utah Sate Prison.
