Scope and Contents
Collection includes 63 photographs and five tintypes of the Russell and Pratt families. Also includes images of leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Joseph F. Smith, the Kirtland Temple, and various locations in Utah. Materials dated 1860-1909.

Biographical / Historical
The Russell family began with the marriage of Samuel Russell and Lucy Pratt on February 4, 1869 in Salt Lake City, Utah territory. Russell was a polygamist and also married Henrietta Pratt on June 14, 1877 in St. George, Utah territory. Lucy had four children: Jacob Parley Pratt Russell, Francis Joseph Russell, Henrietta Hope Russell, and Ellen Russell. Henrietta had seven children: Samuel Russell, Isaac K. Russell, Lucy Russell, Christopher Pratt Russell, Jared Pratt Russell, Mary Walton Pratt Russell, and Sarah Eliza Russell.
