Biographical / Historical
James Albert McMurrin was born 10 April 1889, in Salt Lake City, Utah. After the death of his father, his family settled in Logan, Utah. He was active in state politics, serving as a state senator for Cache County and as secretary of the Senate. Between 1950 and 1955 he served as president of the Northwestern States Mission. After his release he continued to be active in public affairs, and participated in the Freedom Bond Drive of 1963, the Utah Council of the Aging, and the White House Conference on Aging of 1971.
