Biographical / Historical

Wallace Foster Bennett was born November 13, 1898 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Foster Bennett and Rosetta Wallace Bennett. He married Frances Marion Grant on September 6, 1922. They went on to have five children. He graduated from the University of Utah with an A.B. degree in 1919. He held a number of jobs, including president of Bennett Glass and Paint and founder and president of the Bennett Motor Company. In 1950, he ran as a Republican candidate for, and was subsequently elected to, one of Utah's two senate seats. He was re-elected in 1956, 1962, and 1968. He retired in 1974. He passed away in 1993 in Utah.
