Biographical / Historical

J. Stanley Anderson, otherwise known as Jedediah Stanley Anderson, was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States of America on the 3rd of September 1866 to parents George A. Anderson Sr. and mother Mary Ann Thorne. He was married at age 29 to Mary Emily Wilderburg on 28 November 1895. They then had 6 children together. At age 51 he was drafted into World War I. He then moved to Idaho in 1901 where he stayed and started his photography business until his retirement in 1925. His photographs mainly depict scenes and landscapes from Utah and Idaho. Notably his brother George Edward Anderson was also a photographer. J. Stanley Anderson died at the age of 83 in Preston, Franklin, Idaho, United States on 9 May 1950. Later he was buried in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
