James Vincent D'Arc (b. 1950) was a professor in the Speech and Theatre Arts Department at BYU and worked at the L. Tom Perry Special Collections department where he was the curator of the BYU Motion Picture Archive and contributor for the Motion Picture Archives Film Series.

James Vincent D'Arc was born in Los Angeles, CA on August 7, 1950. After growing up, in the early 1970s, D'Arc was accepted into Brigham Young University, where he majored in history. During this time, in 1973 he also grew interested in a film appreciation class taught by Dr. Charles M. Metten, which motivated him to receive a PhD in film history from the University in 1986. During his time as a student, he also was hired in what was then called the "Archives and Manuscripts Division," where he began gathering film-related materials for the Archives starting with items donated to the collection from Dean Jagger, an actor who played Brigham Young in the 1940 film "Brigham Young." From there the collection obtained items including those pertaining to Cecil B. DeMille, classic MGM musicals like "Singin' in the Rain," and many others - a good number of them which are shown in the Motion Picture Archives Film Series today in the L. Tom Perry Special Collections.

Aside from this, in 1990 D'Arc also was employed as a Professor of Film in BYU's Theatre and Media Arts college. Although the college allowed him to split his time working as both a professor and a curator for the Special Collections department, by the end of the school year, he returned to being a full-time employee for Special Collections.

While spending his time in BYU, D'Arc eventually married Patricia Ann Morris in Salt Lake City on January 22, 1974. During their marriage, they had five children and seven grandchildren. On April 20, 2005, Patricia passed away after 19 months of illness in Utah.

James D'Arc retired from the L. Tom Perry Special Collections in August 2017.

When he died, she raised their sons on the ranch they had bought. Annick Smith has written a number of books and magazine articles, and produced Heartland and A River Runs Through It.

Andrew V. McLaglen (1920-2014) was a film director.

Andrew Victor McLaglen was born July 28, 1920 in Greater London, England, to British actor Victor McLaglen. He started his film career in 1945 as a production assistant and eventually became a director, directing his first film, "Gun the Man Down" in 1956. He directed many films over the next 30 years, mostly Westerns, and some of them starring John Wayne. Others starred James Stewart. Andrew McLaglen passed away August 30, 2014 in San Juan County, Washington.

Michael Burrows (1929-2015) was a film critic and historian.

Michael Burgess Burrows was born July 15, 1929, in Beeston, Nottinghamshire, England. He taught business law at the Plymouth College of Further Education. He wrote numerous books about films and their stars and directors, including a book about Andrew V. McLaglen. Michael Burrows passed away on November 10, 2015 in England.

Zoe Porter (1901-1992) was a secretary to Merian C. Cooper.

Zoe Porter was born August 20, 1901 in Oklahoma. She was an assistant to Merian C. Cooper and worked on several films, including King Kong. Zoe Porter passed away September 22, 1992 in Los Angeles County, California.

Daniel Carlquist (1896-unknown) was a soldier in World War II.

Daniel Ellsworth Carlquist was born in 1896. He was in the 4th Balloon Company in World War II.

Tony Thomas (1947-) is a film producer.

Tony Thomas was born December 7, 1947 in Hollywood CA. He is known for his work on Golden Girls and Dead Poets Society, among his 60 producing credits.

Karl Malden (1912-2009) was an actor.

Karl Malden was born March 22, 1912 in Chicago, Illinois, to a Czech mother and a Serbian father. He worked in the steel industry until 1934, when he left to attend the Arkansas State Teacher's College and the Goodman Theater Dramatic School. He then went to New York to pursue acting.

In New York, Malden worked in plays under the direction of Elia Kazan. He served in World War II, and when he came back he was in A Streetcar Named Desire, for which he won an Oscar. He went on to star in dozens of films including Pollyanna, How the West was Won, and Patton.

In 1988 Malden became the president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and held that position for five years. Karl Malden died July 1, 2009, in Los Angeles, CA.

Mark Rydell (1934-) is a film director.

Mark Rydell was born in 1934. He is known for his work on On Golden Pond, The Cowboys, and James Dean.

Jackie Rife (1933-2013) was a stuntperson.

Jackie Rife was born August 12, 1933 in Cedar City, Utah, to Jack and Norma Hamblin. She worked as a stuntwoman in over 15 movies filmed in Utah. She is known for stunt work on The Yellow Tomahawk (1954). Jackie Rife passed away October 29, 2013 in Kanab, Utah.

Danny Gould was (1921-2010) was a music executive and composer-songwriter at Warner Brothers.

Danny Gould was born April 28, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Boys' High School and NYU. Upon graduation, he served in World War II as a Morse code operator. He played the accordion, piano, and glockenspiel. Before working at Warner Brothers, he worked at Paramount on films including Paint Your Wagon and Darling Lili. He worked at Warner Brothers for 39 years, and his work can be found in such films as Lampoon's European Vacation and The Lost Boys. Danny Gould passed away on November 4, 2010 in Studio City, CA.

Michael J. Lewis (1939-) is a composer.

Michael John Lewis was born January 11, 1939 in Aberystwyth, Wales. He studied at the Guildhall School of Music in London. His film scores include Julius Caesar, 11 Harrowhouse, The Man Who Haunted Himself, and the Madwoman of Chaillot. His Broadway show Cyrano earned a Grammy nomination and a Tony award.
