Biographical / Historical
Cleofon is a women's literary club in Provo, Utah. It was established in 1955 as the "Cleofon Literary Club" but was later known as just "Cleofon." It began with 17 members, with Beverly Broadbent as president, and Mary Hales as Vice President. A club historian was tasked with keeping a scrapbook documenting the organization’s history. The club held some events and meetings to discuss literary pieces, but in general operated as a social and cultural club, holding holiday events, hosting music and speaker programs, and running various projects. As of 2020, the organization was still active.
