Biographical / Historical
Mieth Parish Maeser was born to Reinhard Maeser and Sarah Caroline Shepherd in Beaver, Utah on August 2, 1899. His paternal grandfather was Karl G. Maeser, former Brigham Young University faculty member. Mieth served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northwestern States mission from 1919 to 1921. He became a materials engineer and published on leather engineering and shoe construction, creating patented materials. He died in Roselle New Jersey on July 12, 1988.
