Letter jacket with a KBYU chenille patch, given to Curtis G. Taylor, a radio announcer for KBYU, in 1951. Also includes a photograph of Taylor and a handwritten biographical note about Taylor's career with Brigham Young University. Dated 1951.

Biographical History

Curtis Gene Taylor was born on August 13, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Fred and Roxie Porter Taylor. Raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taylor graduated from high school in Long Beach, California. After graduation he served in the Merchant Marine as a radio operator.

Following his military service, Taylor attended Brigham Young University. During his time as a student he worked as a radio announcer on KBYU. He later served as a missionary in Western Canada and attended Brigham Young University. In 1955, Taylor married Marilyn Hess, and they had four children.

Throughout his career, Taylor worked for a number of companies, including KSL Television, Atomics International, and Signetics. He also served for twenty years as a children's gymnastics coach at Brigham Young University, and in leadership positions in his local Church congregation.

Taylor passed away on September 20, 2001 in Provo, Utah.
