Biographical History
William L. Hayes (1865-1934) was a Latter-day Saint merchant and politician in Utah.
William Lehi Hayes was born on January 19, 1865 in Lehi, Utah to John Joseph Hayes and Rachael Eleanor Wagstaff. He was raised in Sanpete and Utah Counties. He attended Brigham Young Academy beginning in 1881. He later served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern States Mission from 1893 to 1895. Hayes married three times and had five children. He established himself in Pleasant Grove, Utah, where he worked as manager of the Thorne Bros. Store. He was also active in politics and served in the Utah Legislature between 1909 and 1913. William L. Hayes died in Pleasant Grove, Utah on July 10, 1934.
