Scope and Contents
Contains print outs of three volumes of journals written by Reuben Hatch during his time in the Southern States Mission from 1896-1898. Print outs are taken from an M disc also contained in collection. Journals discuss personal observations of Reuben Hatch and work pertaining to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Biographical History
Reuben Hatch (1859-1945) was a rancher in northern Utah who served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern States Mission from 1896-1898.
Reuben Hatch was born on July 23, 1859 in Woods Cross, Utah to parents Ira Stearns and Jane Bee Hatch. Reuben Hatch married Zelnora "Nora" Ure Hatch on April 22, 1884 in the Salt Lake Endowment house. At age 36, Reuben Hatch was called and set apart as a missionary on January 17, 1896 to serve in the Southern States Mission, which included the states of Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Virginia at the time of its creation in 1876. He was released in September 1898. Reuben Hatch was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ and worked as a county rancher, acting as president of Hatch Livestock Co. until he passed away on November 28, 1945.
