Biographical History
Rachel Calder Ashworth (1928-) is an LDS family historian and musician living in Orem.
Rachel Calder Ashworth was one of twin sisters born November 18, 1928 in Vernal, Utah to Leo and Lucile Hacking Calder. She graduated from Uintah High School in 1947, then attended BYU from 1947 to 1949, the University of Utah from 1949 to 1950, and finally graduated from San Jose State College with an Education degree. She married Clinton Paul Ashworth in the Salt Lake City Temple on the October 9, 1950. Together they had seven children; Jeff, Lucy, James, Alan, Paul, Sally and Jane.
Mrs. Ashworth has always actively participated in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Mt. Timpanogos temple, and a one year Family History mission in Salt Lake with her husband. She has sung vocal solos and in many choirs throughout the years, and loves Family History Research and writing pioneer histories.
