Biographical / Historical
Frank Skinner (31 December 1897 – 9 October 1968) was an American film composer and arranger.
Skinner started his career playing in dance bands and then composing and arranging for them. From 1925-1935 he composed or arranged over 2000 popular songs for dance bands before moving on to motion pictures. He worked for MGM for one year before switching to Universal Pictures, and composed for over 200 films from 1936-1966. He was nominated for 5 academy awards.
