J. J. Taylor letter
Scope and Contents
Handwritten letter from J. J. Taylor, Payson, Arizona, to his brother Rick about business matters. Includes a description of a mutual acquaintance, G. W. Davis, being imprisoned for forgery in selling property. Also includes detail about a man named James Taylor who was wanted for robbing a bank and other charges. Two law officers tried to arrest Taylor when he shot and killed one, and then was shot and killed by the other. The letter concludes with J. J. Taylor writing about water rights and losing his shipping contract at Salt Lake City, Utah. Dated January 6, 1898.
