The Franklin D. Roosevelt Library (1941- ) is a library dedicated to the public for the research of Franklin D. Roosevelt and his wife Eleanor Roosevelt.

The Franklin D. Roosevelt was dedicated in 1941 following the request of President Franklin D. Roosevelt for a facility to house all his papers. Originally the museum was a showcase for various collections. Over time however, as more collections were processed more were available to research. In 1950, the materials within the library opened to the public for research.

In 1962, Roosevelt's wife Eleanor died and her papers were added to the library. Due to the large amounts of papers being house two new wings were added to the building to compensate.

In 2009, the library received $17.5 million from the federal budget for rennovation. In 2010, the renovation began and the library was brought up to archival standards. On June 20, 2013 the library was rededicated and opened to the public.

Elbert Duncan Thomas (1883-1953) was a U.S. Senator from the state of Utah.

Elbert Duncan Thomas was born on June 17, 1883 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Richard Kendall and Caroline Stockdale Thomas. As a child he loved to act and participated in many productions.

He attended the University of Utah. He married Edna Harker on June 25, 1907 in Salt Lake City, Utah and together they had three daughters. They served a mission together from 1907 to 1912 in Japan. Upon returning from Japan, Thomas became a Professor of Political Science and History at the University of Utah. Evntually he served as an Administrator on the Board of Regents. Edna passed away in 1942. He married Ethel Evan in 1946 in Salt Lake City.

In 1932, he was elected to the Senate as a Democrat. He served on the Committee on Military Affairs, the Mines and Mining Committee, the Committee on Labor and Public Welfare, and as chairman on the Committee on Education and Labor. He served in the Senate for three terms.

In 1951, he was appointed High Commissioner over the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands. He passed away on February 11, 1953 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is buried in Salt Lake City, Utah.
