G. Donald Gale collection of KSL editorials
Scope and Contents
Contains copies on DVD of the televised KSL editorials that Gale wrote on current events in Utah. Topics include local celebrations (parades, fairs, etc.), police news (crime, administration of police officers generally), news from area colleges (such as Brigham Young University and Utah State), and other relevant news from the area. DVDs are grouped by year. Also contains a book written by G. Donald Gale titled "KSL Editorials 1978-1997: A Personal History." The book describes the history of the KSL network and Gale's work there over the years. Additionally, it lists all editorials by name in alphabetical order which functions as a catalogue to the content on the DVDs.

Biographical / Historical
G. Donald Gale (born 1933) worked for over twenty years writing KSL editorials and working for other corporations as a writer. He lives in Utah.
Glen Donald Gale was born in 1933 to Mr. and Mrs. Glen F. Gale. He grew up in Salt Lake City. He dropped out of high school, but eventaully received his high school diploma in 1984 from Salt Lake Community High and went on to earn his Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Utah. In 1998, Southern Utah University awarded him an honorary Doctor of Humanities. Gale served as Vice President for News and Public Affairs at Bonneville International Corporation. For twenty-two years, he wrote, produced, and broadcasted six thousand daily editorial comments for KSL. His editorials earned state, regional, and national honors. He also served on the faculties of the University of Utah and Weber State University. He is the author of a book published recently by the University of Utah Press entitled Bags to Riches. Which is about I. J. "Izzi" Wagner, a Utah businessman, civic leader, and philanthropist.
Gale serves on at least a dozen volunteer boards--from the Utah Shakespearean Festival to the Utah Kidney Foundation. He enjoyed serving as President of the University of Utah Alumni Association. He is former chair of the University of Utah National Advisory Council and currently the President of Words, Words, Words, Inc. He married Doris Jean Chipman on June 24, 1954. They have three children and live in Utah.
