Sergio Bernal manuscripts
Scope and Contents
The Sergio Bernal manuscripts contain three printed manuscripts including his "Violin Concerto," "Variaciones sombre la Pavana 'Bella que tienes mi alma' de Thoinot Arbeau," and "Sonancias para Cuerda." The collection also contains a CD audio recording of the works.

Biographical / Historical
Sergio Bernal is an outstanding Latin American conductor and teacher.
A native Colombian, he studied on a full scholarphip in the Yale University/ Affiliate Artists Conduction Program. Bernal holds music degrees from Queens College and the University of Michigan, where he studied with Gustav Meier, and won conductiong scholarships at the Aspen Music Festival and the Tanglewook Music Center.
Bernal's talent for conducting has not only won him opportunities with destinguished American orchestra's but has lead him to countries such as Mexico, Venezuela, Poland, and Romania as a guest conductor. Since 1993, Bernal has worked closely with the National System of Orchestras of Venezuela, searving as a permanent guest conductor and artistic advisor.
Bernal ccurrently directs the Utah State University Symphony Orchestra, and is also the Director of Strings.
