Biographical history

Jessie Chapman Mickelson (1901-1989) was a housewife and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in southern Utah.

Jessie Chapman was born December 21, 1901, in Manti, Utah, to Samuel Welcome and Lillies Staines Lyon Chapman. She was the youngest of eleven children. She was raised in Manti, Utah, and married Rulon Spencer Mickelson of Manti on March 18, 1925, in the Manti, Utah, temple. She was the mother of four children: Garth (Lola), Merrill (Charlene), Arlene (Lloyd), and Elliot (Zola). The family lived in Manti, but later moved to Richfield, Utah, for Rulon's job. Jessie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held several callings including Sunday school teacher and Relief Society president. She was greatly loved by her children and grandchildren. Jessie passed away January 14, 1989, in Richfield, Sevier, Utah.
