Administrative History
In 1933 to 1942 President Franklin D. Roosevelt organized the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) to help unemployed, unmarried men from age 18 to 25 get jobs during the Great Depression. Most of the work was labor oriented to make roads and fences. Over the nine year span 2.5 million men participated in the program.
