Ruth J. Rasmussen papers
Scope and Contents
Contains a scrapbook compiled by Ruth J. Rasmussen to record the Explorer Scout Post 36 accident in southern Utah in which 13 people were killed on June 10, 1963. One of these was Gary Lynn Rasmussen, 15-year-old son of LaRay and Ruth J. Rasmussen of Provo, Utah. Also contains various of family history and temple records for Andersson, Johanson, Frickberg, and Rasmussen families. Dated 1963 to 2003.

Biographical History
Ruth Linnea Johanson Rasmussen was born April 5, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married LaRay Rusmussen and together they had three sons and two daughters. Their son, Gary Lynn Rasmussen, passed away June 10, 1963, at the age of 15, from a scouting trip accident that took place in southern Utah. Ruth worked as a legal secretary and clerk for the Utah County Juvenile Court. In 1987, Ruth and LaRay served as missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Boise, Idaho. Ruth passed away on November 19, 2009, in Utah.
