Contains letters and envelopes. The letters and envelopes are addressed to Henry Baker and Mary Hollister Baker, and are from their son Horace Benjamin Baker. The letters describe life in the West, looking for work, thoughts on Mormonism, and other family news. The collection also contains one letter from Sarah Baker to her parents, in which she describes life in Michigan and her recent illness, and other family news.

Biographical History
Horace Benjamin Baker was born September 10, 1861 in Maine, New York, to Henry Baker and Mary Hollister Baker. Following the completion of his education, he taught school in New York. At age 24, he travelled west and worked in Utah and Idaho as a surveyor for the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad. He married Sarah Letitia Kirby on November 24, 1887 in Boise, Idaho. They had six children. Horace died April 20, 1946.
