Scope and Contents
Oral history interviews with Cardon Jones on July 20, 1970 conducted by Suzanne Simon and Dorothy Erick, and on July 2, 1971 conducted by Elsie Sotomayor for the Utah State Historical Society and California State University, Fullerton Oral History Program. The subjects are uranium mining and the sheep industry in Blanding, Utah. Much of Cardon's disussion includes the Indians of the southeast Utah area and his life in Colorado. Bound manuscript, 54 pages, 1 photocopied picture of Cardon and indexes included. Dated 1987.

Biographical History
Cardon Jones (1912-1979) was a rancher.
Cardon Jones was born September 27, 1912 in Bluff, San Juan, Utah to Anna Mackleprang Jones and Thomas DeAlton Jones. His family moved to Blanding, Utah when he was three years old. He married Hattie Louise Guymon February 24, 1933. At around age 43, Cardon moved to Colorado and ranched for 25 years. He then retired to Blanding, Utah. Cardon died February 27, 1979 in Blanding, Utah.

Elsie Sotomayor was an oral history researcher in California.
