Oral history interview with Charles Sipe on 29 June 1971 and 1 July 1972, conducted by Chris H. Banas and Louise Lyne for the Utah State Historical Society and the California State University, Fullerton, Oral History Program. The first interview covers Charles' childhood and background, his work in oil drilling throughout Utah and his wife, children, and grandchildren. The subject of the second interview is law and order. Charles discusses his law enforcement experience in Blanding, Utah. Bound manuscript, 57 pages of text, photocopied pictures, and no indexes.

Biographical History
Charles Luther Sipe (1898-1983) worked in the oil fields in Salt Lake.
Charles Luther Sipe was born 8 August 1898 in Adams County, Pennsylvania, to Asbury Derland Sipe and Carrie May Chronister. He was raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and later homesteaded in Wyoming with his mother. After trying that out Charles moved to Salt Lake where he worked in the oil fields, and then finally to Southeastern Utah where he met his future wife, Viola Palmer. They were married 6 June 1927 in Monticello, San Juan, Utah. Charles died 30 June 1983 in Blanding, San Juan, Utah.
